Each item gets its own line. So does the butter it was cooked in: 60 kcal, already in the total. Protein sits right next to the calories.

Inside the app

Your plan
Same math the app runs at setup: Mifflin-St Jeor for your burn, protein locked to your goal. Give the app the same answers and you'll get the same numbers.
Built for people who lift
An Arc is eight to twelve weeks of bulk, cut or recomp with one deal: a protein floor and a calorie target. It freezes when you start, so the goalposts don't move.

On a bulk, landing over target is a win. On a cut, under target with protein landed is textbook. Brasa scores your day for the season you're in.
Hit 90% of your protein target and it stays lit. One miss dims it. Two put it out. Relight within two days and your days come back. Calories never touch it, so a cheat meal costs nothing if the protein landed.
Earned, never bought.

Everything else
Quick for one photo. Precision for three angles. Max for a short video. Barcode for anything with a label. Or say it. Or type it.

FAQ
Free to download. After setup you pick a plan: Yearly at $29.99 (3-day free trial for eligible new subscribers, then $29.99/year, auto-renews) or Weekly at $3.99 a week (no trial, auto-renews weekly). There's no free tier, and no ads on either plan. Prices in USD; your local price shows in the app.
Honest answer: it's an estimate — every food scan on earth is. Brasa is built around that truth instead of hiding it: a fork beside the plate helps it judge scale, hidden calories like cooking oil get their own line, and Precision mode takes three angles instead of one. Got something wrong? Tap any item to edit its grams and macros, or add what it missed. No tracker gives you lab numbers from a photo; Brasa gives you an honest, usable number and the tools to correct it.
If you're eligible, the Yearly plan starts with three days of everything, free. Then it's $29.99/year and auto-renews. To pay nothing, cancel in your App Store settings at least 24 hours before the trial ends. With notifications on, Brasa sends you a reminder before it ends. No tricks, no hidden lock-in.
No. Weekly is $3.99 a week from day one and auto-renews weekly. The free trial is on the Yearly plan only.
Through Apple, like every subscription: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Brasa. Cancelling stops the renewal; you keep access until the period ends. Refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.
Yes. It reads the dish, not just the ingredients: arepas, bibimbap, feijoada, tagine, tamales, katsu curry. It thinks about how a dish is usually cooked, oil included. Packaged food? Scan the barcode. Brasa is available in 8 languages; scan results and some screens are still in English.
Yes. Save what you keep at home, like a zero-calorie syrup, in Settings → My Kitchen: scan its barcode or add it manually. Scans set to At home can swap in your saved numbers for a matching item and tag it “My Kitchen.” Tap any item to change it.
It tells you. Brasa refuses to invent a meal from your desk or your dog — you get a “that's not food” card and one tap to try again.
They're sent to xAI, our AI provider, only to produce your estimate. xAI doesn't store them or use them to train its models, and our server doesn't keep them — unless you opt in to “Help improve Brasa,” which keeps copies of your scan images for up to 24 months. They don't carry your name or account ID, but they aren't anonymous (details). Your logs live on your device first, mirrored to your account for backup. Meal thumbnails stay on your iPhone; they aren't part of that mirror.
No — Brasa works from the first scan without a name, email or password. When you want your logs to survive a lost or new iPhone, link your Apple ID in Settings → Secure my account. It uses Sign in with Apple, so we never ask for a password.
Yes. Your logs live on your device and in your account. They're never sold and never shared with advertisers, and there are no ads in Brasa. We use app analytics and crash reports to fix and improve Brasa. Health figures are informational, not medical advice.
Not today. Brasa doesn't sync with Apple Health yet. Log workouts in the app and they extend that day's calorie budget, labeled as an estimate.
Not yet. Brasa is iPhone-native (iOS 17+). If the lifters demand it loudly enough, we'll listen.

Brasa is the Spanish/Portuguese word for ember — the heat that actually cooks. Less fire show, more heat. That's the whole product philosophy.
